Habilitation

Generalities and forms

     Ovidius University of Constanta is an institution organizing doctoral studies, hereinafter called UOC. The fields in which the UOC organizes the public thesis defense are: Biology, Philology, History, Civil Engineering and Installations, Mathematics, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Theology.

     Qualification is the certification of a person’s ability to conduct doctoral work.  The habilitation thesis reveals the candidate’s teaching and research capabilities and performance.

     The habilitation certificate is granted by order of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, at the proposal of the National Council for the Accreditation of University Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates (CNATDCU) of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research (MECS).

     The habilitation thesis may be defended by persons who hold the scientific title of doctor and who meet the minimum standards identical to the standards for the award of the title of university professor, respectively CS I, established by the CNATDCU and approved by order of the Minister.
